orders, delivery & returns



Your order is placed by selecting your style, choosing from the relevant options, following the ordering steps, and paying using Paypal. Once your order has been placed, you will receive a confirmation email.


bespoke orders

Bespoke orders, whether variations on existing designs or original designs, are best placed in person over a few meetings. If it is not possible to meet in person, a bespoke order can be arranged by distance. For more information about bespoke orders, see the bespoke orders page of the main website. It is not possible to accept returns on bespoke orders. However, we make every effort to ensure that every customer is completely satisfied with their order.



All items within the United Kingdom are sent using Royal Mail Special Delivery, which is a next day service. Items sent outside the United Kingdom are sent depending on the size of the package either Airsure or Parcel Force. All services require a signature at the point of delivery.


The UK shipping rates are £7.00 for up to 2kg, £15 for 2-5kg, and £20 for 5-10kg. EU shipping is £15 for up to 2kg, and International shipping is £20 for up to 2kg. Shipping is calculates by the weight of item(s), rather than by the number of items.


Sarah Cant Couture Millinery is not responsible for any delays in delivery incurred due to adverse weather conditions, industrial action or circumstances beyond our control once the item is with the delivery providers. Whenever possible, we will make every effort to ensure that your order is not delayed by such factors, and will contact you to make alternative arrangements if appropriate.


delivery times

All Sarah Cant hats are entirely handmade in the UK using couture millinery techniques. The highest level of craftsmanship is assured in every hat and headpiece. Because of these standards, your order will take a little time to be ready for delivery. Please note the delivery time on each product when shopping.


in a hurry?

If you are in a hurry for an item, it is sometimes possible to rush an order. Please contact sarah@sarahcant.co.uk before placing your order to confirm that delivery will be possible within the given time.


overseas orders

Please allow an extra 2 weeks for overseas orders. When confirming your order, every effort will be made to get your items to you as soon as is possible. However, the complexities of shipping to countries outside of the UK require extra time.

Overseas buyers should be aware that there may be duties and/or taxes levied at the point of entry into the destination country. These charges are separate from the cost of items and shipping paid at the point of sale, and are responsibility of the customer.



We hope that you will be delighted with your Sarah Cant hat. However, if for some reason, you are not happy with your order, and would like to return it, please notify us by email to sarah@sarahcant.co.uk within 7 days of receiving your order. Returns must be made within 14 days of delivery.

Pieces must be returned unworn with all labels intact and in the original packaging.  A full refund excluding the cost of postage, will be issued back to your Paypal account once the piece has been received and found to be in satisfactory condition. Refunds and exchanges will not be given on any items that have been worn or used, and/or are in an un-saleable condition.

The cost of returning will be borne by you, the purchaser, unless the item is faulty in which case a full refund will be issued including the initial and return postage costs.

Please note that you are responsible for the return, and so we recommend that you use a recorded delivery service.

faulty goods

We pride ourselves on the quality of the hats, which are all made to a couture standard. However, in the unlikely event that you receive a faulty item, please email sarah@sarahcant.co.uk within 48 hours of receipt, explaining the problem. Once we have received your message, we will reply and make an arrangement for the return.
